The ANU GRACE visualisation web portal

چکیده
The launch of the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) space gravity mission opened new horizons to the scientific community for environmental monitoring. Through the provision of estimates of temporal changes in the Earth’s gravity field, the products generated from the GRACE mission have enabled studies of mass balance changes in polar regions, deformation caused by very large earthquakes, glacial isostatic adjustment and quantification of water exchanges through various hydrological processes. International analysis centres provide estimates of the Earth’s temporally varying gravity field in the form of spherical harmonic coefficients which are then used to quantify the geophysical processes that have caused the changes in the Earth’s gravity field. We have designed an online, publicly available web application that performs the computations to convert the spherical harmonic representations (of the French Groupe de Recherche en Géodesie Spatiale) of the gravity field into estimates of crustal deformation and/or water loads, and provides users with the ability to visualise the estimates. Derived products are also available to download as numerical values for further analysis. This paper describes the scientific basis and technical approaches used by the web portal (grace.anu.edu.au/evasph.php). & 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Sharing Landscape Information through an Online Geographical Visualisation Portal
The access to, and visualisation of, landscape information through online websites can effectively support natural resource management and decision making. Online repositories of information are a useful resource for community members and researchers to enhance their understanding of agricultural and natural landscapes past, present and future. In this paper we report on the development of an o...
متن کاملVisualisation and Grid applications of electromagnetic scattering from aircraft
Electromagnetic scattering behaviour plays a central role in the design of aircraft and other complex structures. This paper describes progress on visualisation tools in this area and on initial development of a web portal to enable scientists at remote locations to collaborate.
متن کاملThe CCLRC Dataportal
The project aims to provide easy, transparent access to experimental, observational, simulation and visualisation data kept on a multitude of systems and sites. Further more it will provide links to other web/grid services, which will allow the scientists to further use the selected data, e.g. via data mining, simulations or visualisation. The Data Portal will aim to work as a broker between th...

The German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) is developing an innovative AV-Portal which allows web-based access to scientific films. Therefore the TIB would like to transfer existing methods of visual search, visualisation and automatic content analysis into the field of digital libraries. In order to ensure optimum usability of the AV-Portal, the development has been accompanie...
متن کاملEvaluating the Implementation and Feasibility of a Web-Based Tool to Support Timely Identification and Care for the Frail Population in Primary Healthcare Settings
Background Understanding and addressing the needs of frail persons is an emerging health priority for Nova Scotia and internationally. Primary healthcare (PHC) providers regularly encounter frail persons in their daily clinical work. However, routine identification and measurement of frailty is not standard practice and, in general, there is a lack of awareness about how to identify and respond...
